JOB SUMMARY Provide pastoral support and administrative leadership with heavy focus on High School and Middle school students at IPC Hebron Houston. This position is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining innovative and impactful Gospel-centered student programs that aim to empower, equip, and inspire students to follow Christ and grow in His likeness. A successful Youth Pastor will provide biblical teaching, mentoring and discipleship, foster prayer, worship, and fellowship, build Student Ministry team leaders, and collaborate with the pastoral team, parents, and volunteers to engage and inspire students to lead Christ-centered lives, evangelistically. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide pastoral and administrative oversight and leadership over all Student Ministries (High School and Middle School) with a spirit of humility, unity, and excellence.
Cultivate an environment & culture that fosters spiritual growth, grounded in biblical truth, and nurtured and empowered by the Holy Spirit.
Lead the Student Ministry with a strong emphasis on mission and outreach. This role will develop students spiritually while equipping them to actively serve their community & beyond.
Collaborate with the Senior Pastor and Associate Pastor to achieve the vision, mission and objectives of the church while ensuring all efforts complement a unified multi-generational ministerial approach.
Collaborate with IPC Hebron Houston’s Executive Leadership and Board to cast and articulate clear goals for IPC Hebron Student Ministries.
Open to mentorship from the Senior Pastor as a means of personal and spiritual growth, fostering deeper understanding, skill development, and guidance in navigating the complexities of ministry.
Build and develop a core team of Student Ministry coordinators/leaders to effectively manage, plan and execute the various IPC Hebron Student Ministry programs and events.
Conduct regular Student Ministry Leaders training/team building workshops for direction setting, driving accountability, mentoring, coaching and discipleship.
Ensure organization, proper planning, and consistency of biweekly Middle and High School group gatherings (approx. 50% of time). Bible study books, tools and resources may be leveraged, as needed, to aid in the structure/curriculum of these gatherings.
Offer weekly Student Ministry gatherings that incorporate short devotional, prayer and interactive activities that promote application of the lesson, creativity, and fellowship.
Prepare and deliver Sunday service sermons (min. of 25% of services each month) by articulating scriptural principles and presenting its relevance to current life application.
Be available to participate/attend Sunday English Services and help/serve as needed.
Partner with core Student Ministry coordinators and leaders to plan, manage and execute at least two annual student events (Back to School Conference, Youth Retreat).
Establish strong relationships with Student Ministry participants, providing mentoring, counseling, and spiritual direction on an individual basis as needed.
Provide oversight and collaborative leadership to Sunday School Principal, and other associated programs or events (e.g., Common Session, VBS, Teacher Seminars, etc.).
Provide oversight and collaborative leadership to PYPA Coordinator when necessary.
Provide oversight and collaborative leadership to the Children's Church Coordinator as needed.
Prepare and deliver Children’s Church messages (on occasion, approx. 25% of services each month).
Collaborate with Missions & Outreach Teams to plan Students mission trips/outreach events.
Create an annual budget for Student ministries, input from core Student Ministry coordinators.
Create an annual schedule for all major Student Ministry events/activities with input from core Student Ministry coordinators.
Teach a biblically based immersion baptism class as needed and prepare students for the significance of witnessing the Lord Jesus Christ in water baptism.
